Our Nashville team dedicated their third quarter social responsibility project to Safe Haven - Courtney's House in Ashland City, TN.  This is a shelter that opens its doors to victims who are trying to free their families from domestic abuse.

Safe Haven - Courtney's House, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2013.  It is named in honor of Courtney Prince, a victim of domestic violence whose husband shot her 10 times as she was fleeing from the abusive situation. Courtney's newborn child was taken away from her the same day, and Courtney passed away from her injuries.

Courtney’s House provides counseling, spiritual counseling, medical access, workforce essentials, and more. This provides families with complete access to everything they need to start new lives.

One in four women experience domestic abuse in their lifetimes. More than 47 million women per year report domestic violence, and it is estimated that more than 60 percent of cases go unreported. This brings the estimated total to more than 100 million women. In order to do our part in helping to end domestic abuse, our Nashville office and vendor partners spent the third quarter gathering items for the House, which are always in short supply.  These items include toilet paper, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, dish soap, and cleaning supplies. These items were delivered to Ellen from Courtney’s House, who was thrilled as filled the back of her SUV with the items!
