At HealthTrust, we believe in the value of cultivating our employees to help them achieve their career goals. Many times, this results in internal promotions based on matching our employees’ strengths and skillsets to positions that help them move through their personalized career paths.

We will be sharing stories of how our team members have been excelling in the staffing field, starting with members of Vice President Lisa Acevedo’s team. Pictured above are Lisa Acevedo, Jennifer Mailly, Jennifer Katz, and James Trapani.

James Trapani – Staffing Specialist to Associate Recruiter to Special Projects Recruiter

James joined HealthTrust as a Staffing Specialist in Nashville. Having only been with the company since May 2016, he is already on the cusp of his second promotion, which takes place this May. James moved to South Florida in February 2017 to join our team of Associate Recruiters, a move that is paying off as he continues to follow his career aspirations.

“I want to become the CEO someday,” James says with a smile.

He approached his supervisor, Lisa Acevedo, about wanting to transition into a leadership role within the organization. Although he’s not quite ready to become an executive officer, Lisa recognized his strengths and recommended him to become a Special Projects Recruiter.

In his new role, he will recruit for a variety of careers – including the managerial and executive roles he will one day attain – and learn what kind of experience truly makes a job seeker qualified for such positions.

Jennifer Katz – Special Projects Recruiter to Shared Services, Permanent Recruiter

Jennifer came to HealthTrust as a seasoned recruiter with four years of experience under her belt. Although our recruitment teams are known for staffing nurses and physicians, the Special Projects Recruiter and Shared Services Recruiter roles staff for the careers found in a typical office environment: assistants, executives, and everyone in between.

“The best part is building the relationships with my contacts,” Jennifer says.

Her contacts – including our affiliates at HealthTrust Purchasing Group and Parallon Business Solutions – will call Jennifer when they have a new job opening. Jennifer will source and recruit appropriate candidates over the phone, submit the qualified applicants to the requesting company, and follow up with the company regarding the candidates.

In her role, Jennifer has the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with her contacts, which build a sense of trust and community between the business entities, allowing Jennifer to make her mark at HealthTrust.

Jennifer Mailly – Associate Recruiter to Recruitment Lead Sourcer to Staffing Manager

Like James, Jennifer is also using her Associate Recruiter experience as a stepping stone in her staffing career. By taking initiative and leading various projects in her previous roles, Jennifer felt ready to take the leap into her new role as Staffing Manager.

“I was very happy being a [Sourcing] team lead,” Jennifer says. “But I also wanted to move into a management positon.”

At a Sourcing team meeting, Jennifer learned that a management position would be opening soon. She discussed the job opening with her supervisor, Lisa Acevedo, who explained the demands of the job and the necessary skillsets. Jennifer applied internally and was determined to be a great fit for the position of Staffing Manager, who oversees the OneHR team.

The OneHR team provides contracted recruiters to recruitment teams who are missing a staff member due to maternity leave, illness, or any other prolonged absence. Jennifer is thrilled to have the opportunity to oversee her own team and to help others succeed through her new position.

Although James Trapani, Jennifer Katz, and Jennifer Mailly are all on different career paths, each of them cited the mentorship of their supervisor as a driving force behind their career aspirations. Through our hands-on training programs, recognition of hard work, and approachable leadership, our team members know that no career goal is outside of their grasp.
