Best Cities to Land Your Next Healthcare Job

Best cities for job seekers

ZipRecruiter recently released the Best Cities to Work in 2017 by comparing the number of available jobs to the number of job seekers in several major areas. How does this compare to HealthTrust Workforce Solutions’ own data on healthcare industry jobs?

ZipRecruiter’s rankings were based on the company’s own internal data for 2016. ZipRecruiter lists the top 5 cities for healthcare industry jobs as:

  • Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, WA
  • Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, OR-WA
  • Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, MN-WI
  • Kansas City, MO-KS
  • Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA

Based on HealthTrust’s own internal data, we’ve found some additional cities and regions that may be of interest to healthcare job seekers:

  • Houston, TX – If you’re looking for the scheduling flexibility of per diem nursing, Houston continues to be a top city for per diem assignments based on our vacancies to seekers ratio.
  • Dallas, TX – If the adventure of travel nursing is more your speed, consider searching for travel opportunities in Dallas-Fort Worth.
  • San Jose, CA – NorCal continues to produce numerous opportunities for RNs in search of local contracts, with many of the jobs situated in and around San Jose.
  • Nashville, TN - This Country Music Capital of the World is also a prime location for job seekers interested in interim leadership opportunities.
  • South Florida - With a population that increases dramatically during the winter months, South Florida is a healthcare job seeker's paradise during the snowy season.
