We’re celebrating yet another milestone here at HealthTrust as senior leader Tony Pentangelo recently capped a truly extraordinary career by announcing his retirement. Read on for details about Tony’s impact, and some words of wisdom from an extraordinary career in healthcare leadership.
Celebrating a Career of Excellence in Leadership
From recognizing the nurses who win prestigious DAISY Awards to our top recruiters to the leaders who climb the company ranks through hard work and amazing performance, we’re all about career milestones here at HealthTrust.
And it's hard to think of a bigger one than wrapping up a decades-long career as one of HealthTrust's most dynamic and storied leaders, as well as one of healthcare recruitment's most accomplished and innovative executives.
With that in mind, please join us in congratulating Tony Pentangelo, who is retiring as an Executive Vice President after spending 22 years with HealthTrust plus five with HCA Healthcare before that. Tony is truly one of our brightest stars, and his impact on the company has been enormous.
After all, Tony was there when the modern version of HealthTrust was formed from a shared services organization. And later, he played a key role in co-creating some of our most successful initiatives, including the VPRO and StaRN programs, as well as the Clinical Services, Locum Tenens and Interim Leadership staffing divisions — accomplishments which he calls the proudest of his career.
"If You Want to Be in Healthcare, HWS is the Place to Be"
In addition to his many achievements during with HealthTrust, Tony's expertise stretches back to the 1980s, when he first served as a leader in healthcare recruitment. And those decades of experience served him well as he moved up HealthTrust's ranks — a process he modestly describes as being “rewarded with increasing responsibilities.”
Tony's unique range of experience has also made him a font of essential knowledge — a role he continues with his parting advice to his HealthTrust teammates: "Work hard and look for opportunities to develop your skills and use them internally," he said. "If you want to be in healthcare, HWS [HealthTrust Workforce Solutions] is the place to be."
Describing HealthTrust as a company that offers “great comradery and greater flexibility to develop creative solutions” than most others, Tony also considers joining the company one of the most meaningful moments in his career.
"I am very thankful and appreciative for all of my time with HWS," he told us.
So once again, please join us in celebrating Tony Pentangelo as he prepares to "get away from the daily grind" and spend some well-deserved time with his family and friends!
