Congratulations to Sydnee Siebold on earning a DAISY Award! Sydnee is a Neuro-ICU nurse at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital who provided unparalleled support for the family of a patient. Sydnee's DAISY Award nomination can be read in full below.
"Sydnee is currently the nurse taking care of a patient in our neuro ICU who recently suffered a severe motorcycle accident. The patient is currently in a coma and his prognosis is poor. Sydnee has been so diligent to care for this patient and family with a level of compassion and respect second to none.
The patient's wife has told me several times Sydnee is her 'angel.' She is so grateful for the compassion and love Sydnee continues to show the whole family. On one occasion the wife described how the patient's son wanted to stay the night and Sydnee went out of her way to be sure he had a place to sleep in the patient's room as well as hygiene items for the next morning.
Sydnee has truly embodied the picture of a hero to this patient and his family. She has held many hands, given many hugs, shared in their good and bad, helped relieve their anxiety, calmed their nerves at a very raw and emotional time and has always put the patient and family first."
Please join us in congratulating Sydnee Siebold on her DAISY Award!
