# HCA Expands Emergency Offerings

Good news for ER nurses: HCA is expanding its urgent care centers and free-standing emergency departments across the country. This expansion is to help alleviate the high patient volume experienced at HCA’s traditional emergency rooms.
HCA is one of the country’s leading healthcare providers, serving more than [26 million patients](http://hcahealthcare.com/about/hca-at-a-glance.dot) each year including 8.1 million emergency room visits. The company employs more than 79,000 nurses and 37,000 physicians across 20 states and in the United Kingdom. HealthTrust Workforce Solutions is an affiliate of HCA.
