Happy Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day 2026!

June 2, 2026 is National Healthcare Recruiter Recognition Day, a time to recognize healthcare's unsung heroes the recruiters who connect nurses and clinicians with the jobs that power patient care across the U.S.A.

To mark the occasion, we spoke with five of the top regional recruiters on the HealthTrust team about their motivations, words of advice to new recruiters, and secrets to a successful career. Let’s meet them and hear what they had to say!

Quiondra Bell - Regional Recruiter: Texas

One of HealthTrust's most consistent top-performing recruiters, Quiondra Bell builds relationships with "honesty, transparency, and follow through," she told us.

"Trust is really at the core of it all," she explained. "Also, sharing my industry knowledge and being accessible assures my recruits come to me with questions, concerns, or even a request for insight/direction on their career moves."

And after seven years with HealthTrust, she's still as motivated as ever, taking inspiration from "knowing that my daily contributions help tackle the ongoing healthcare shortage," she said. "It's also fulfilling to act as a career advisor" and being able to "guide their career and connect them to their goals."

Melissa Dison - Regional Recruiter:  Far West, Continental, and Mountain Divisions

“I have a massive amount of respect for healthcare workers,” says Melissa Dison, a recruiter in the HealthTrust West region.

“Knowing that every clinician I assist with finding a job is going on to make such a meaningful difference in peoples' lives is inspiring," she added. "Having a career where I can contribute to that in some small way and have a part in supporting our essential healthcare workers brings me joy.”

Coming up on her five-year anniversary as a HealthTrust recruiter, Melissa also shared some advice for people considering a career in healthcare recruitment.

"Having a positive mindset will go a long way in your success and happiness in this career,” she told us.

Madison Horsley - Regional Recruiter: Continental & MidAmerica

“Make sure you are easily adaptable," advises Madison Horsley to those new to healthcare recruitment. "And make sure you are able to be personal and build relationships with your clinicians!"

A standout recruiter who recently wrapped up her fifth year with HealthTrust. Madison is inspired by “seeing the clinicians I have hired working on the floor and making a difference with their patients," she told us.

"I enjoy sending them Christmas cards every year!”

James McDaid - Regional Recruiter: Florida

For James McDaid, a HealthTrust recruiter for more than seven years, “helping patients get the care they need” is the most rewarding part of the job.

He's built a successful and enduring career on that philosophy, and on the strength of his relationships with clinicians — an achievement he's accomplished “by following through on what I say,” he told us.

When asked what advice he'd give new recruiters, he recommends staying "organized and energetic about your work.”

Jasmine Oyewumi - Regional Recruiter: Gulf Coast, San Antonio, North Texas, Central West Texas

For Jasmine Oyewumi, a HealthTrust recruiter for four and a half years, “being able to make a difference in the lives of the professionals that I hire” is the most rewarding part of the job.

“I enjoy hiring the right professionals that will make a wonderful impact for the patients they serve," she told us.

And she backs up those words with real dedication to her job. “I provide regular check-ins with the professionals that I hire," she told us. "I put forth time to learn more about them, check to see if there are any other areas of interest career-wise within the company, and provide answers to the questions they have right away.

"A lot of healthcare professionals just want to know that they are being seen for all that they do, and I do my best to ensure that they know they are appreciated."
