We're proud to have participated in the 2025 Relay for Life in Plantation, Cooper City, Davie, and Weston, Florida, helping those communities not just meet but exceed their target goal, all while raising local awareness about cancer. Here's a quick look back at the results of a truly inspiring and one-of-a-kind event.
2025 Relay for Life: 40 Years of Cancer Awareness
More than a walk, Relay for Life has become a nationwide movement, shining a light on the dangers of cancer as well as the struggles, hopes, and dreams of those who have experienced it, whether first-hand or through a loved one.
The American Cancer Society’s signature awareness event, the Relay for Life is marking its 40th year in 2025 — a milestone that also saw four counties in Broward County, Florida unify their efforts for the first time.
"Fighting Like Superheroes against Cancer"
Held at Plantation Central Park, our local 2025 Relay for Life brought together volunteers, participants, and supporters from across the region to join in the fight against cancer, and raise funds to help those in need of help in that fight.
To honor this year's theme, "Fighting Like Superheroes Against Cancer,” our local Relay for Life event set its sights on a fundraising goal of $165,000 — a goal that they almost doubled with their eventual total of $270,000.
HealthTrust Participates in 2025 Relay for Life
As a long-time supported both of cancer awareness and our local communities, we're proud to have served as a 2025 Relay for Life participant — especially as this year marked the event's 40th anniversary of Relay for Life, a culmination of decades of work in the never-ending fight against cancer.
It was also the first time four major Broward County cities — Plantation, Cooper City, Davie, and Weston — combined their efforts into one unified event.
We’re proud to say that we ranked in the top 20 fundraisers for our local Relay for Life, surpassing our own goals to raise a total of $3,282. And our Employee Engagement Committee (EEC) and team members company-wide helped do that through individual contributions and three on-site initiatives:
- Our Raffle Fundraiser raised $1,521 by giving away a mix of HWS Swag Baskets: Travel, Tech, Beach, AirPods Basket, and 1, 2, or 3 Days of PTO
- Our Jeans Dress-Down Fundraiser raised $898 by letting participants shift to a more casual company dress code
- Our Swag Sale raised $645 by selling HealthTrust Workforce Solutions gear

We were also proud to have team members from our Employee Engagement Committee (EEC) come together at Plantation Central Park for Relay for Life, taking part in community activities, celebrating survivors, honoring loved ones and raising cancer awareness!
