Helping Deliver a Slam Dunk for Our Community
A community event created by local artists, the third annual South Florida Artist Basketball Tournament was a true slam dunk for everyone who participated. And we're proud to say that we helped support the cause!
Also known as the SoFlo ABT, the tournament was exactly the type of community event that we're always proud to support here at HealthTrust. After all, giving back aligns perfectly with our core values — and, as a leading clinical staffing company and partner to the nation's largest healthcare employer, we make it a point to never lose sight of our local roots.
And we work to fulfill that mission all throughout the year, with cancer walks, local charities, meals for veterans, and many other community events. So, we were excited to participate in the SoFlo Artist Basketball Tournament in our own small way, by donating some player jerseys — an effort led by our President & CEO Brendan Courtney.
A Unique Chance to Support Local Artists
Created by South Florida's creative community — each team is organized and led by a local artist — the SoFlo ABT offers a unique opportunity to come together, build relationships, and explore new areas of creative expression. Participants also sported their HealthTrust jerseys, adding a unified touch of team spirit.
And it’s safe to say that this year's edition did all that, and more. The biggest and most successful SoFlo ABT yet, the 2026 tournament was a star-studded celebration of music, food, and sports that brought out celebrities as well as artists and supporters within the business community.
- The event: The South Florida Artist Basketball Tournament, held Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 at Next Level Basketball in Hollywood, FL
- The mission: To bring together local artists for fun competition, meaningful networking, and opportunities for future collaboration.
- This year’s theme: “For the Creatives that Hoop, and the Hoopers that Create”
- The game plan: A main artist tournament plus a three-point shot competition, slam dunk contest, and plenty of other games and prizes
The tournament also attracted plenty of high-profile local and national celebrities to lend their support — including musicians, athletes, DJs, record producers, and even a Grammy-winning songwriter and former NFL star. Photographers and fashion industry reps were also on hand, while popular local radio stations helped raise crucial awareness not just over the airwaves, but across social media.
But of course, the real stars were the organizers and participants who made this year's SoFlo ABT happen. We're proud to support events like these that give back to the community, and looking forward to what comes next!
