Searching for a new job can be daunting. Luckily, the season of holiday cheer is also the best time to make your next career move. Here are three reasons why you should start your job search now.
1. **Less competition**
[Business Insider](http://www.businessinsider.com/why-december-is-the-best-time-to-look-for-a-job-2015-12) explains that the number of job applicants declines between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, as people are more focused on spending time with family than making a career transition. This takes a number of qualified applicants out of the running, which can increase your chances of finding that new job.
1. **Prime time for networking**
With all the family gatherings, ugly sweater parties, and holiday mixers filling up the month of December, now is the easiest time to network within and outside of your social circle. Let people know that you’re searching, and you may get the inside scoop on companies that are hiring.
