Summary
The Laboratory Director oversees a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the clinical laboratory and compliance with corporate policies.
- Responsible for the quality control program, quality assurance, and the point of care testing programs within the clinical laboratory.
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the work of the clinical laboratory and coordinating it with other areas of the hospital.
- Responsible for all personnel including hiring, discipline, staff development, evaluation, payroll. Acts as technical supervisor for clinical laboratory functions.
- Assures the laboratory meets all regulatory requirements (AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA, etc.)
- Must be capable of clinical practice in all departments of the laboratory and have experience with Joint Commission Laboratory Standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a biological or chemical science required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Laboratory experience.
- Current Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in the State of Florida.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range base salary from $64,875.20 - $108,139.20.
