Central Florida Regional Hospital, a 221-bed acute care hospital, serves the communities of Seminole and west Volusia counties. The hospital provides the only full-service cardiovascular program in Seminole and west Volusia, including open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation and comprehensive diagnostic services. Other specialized services include orthopedic and spine care, robotic surgery, wound care, acute inpatient medical rehabilitation, complete imaging services and The Baby Suites. Central Florida Regional Hospital is located 3.6 miles east of I-4 between S.R. 46 and Highway 17-92 in Sanford. The hospital has been designated a Level II trauma center and provides 24/7 emergency care both in Sanford and at Oviedo ER, a department of Central Florida Regional Hospital, located at 8300 Red Bug Lake Road.
Summary
The RN Labor & Delivery provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:
- Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs
- Carries out physician orders
- Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs
- Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
- Instructs and educates patients and families
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
- Provides age and culturally appropriate care
- Orients and mentors new staff members
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in Labor & Delivery. Able to work in Nursery
- Current Florida State Registered Nurse license required
- BLS, ACLS and NRP - Fetal Monitoring Course
- STABLE highly desirable
Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range between $24 - $37 (nights only at this time). No sign on/relocation yes!
