Serving the community since 1976, Northside Hospital is a 288-bed facility, offering a full range of services including interventional stroke care; full-service orthopedic and spine treatment; a 24-hour emergency department; preventative and corrective cardiac care; and general surgery. As the only nationally recognized Comprehensive Stroke Center in Pinellas County, our technologically advanced facility allows our superior physicians and nursing staff to care for our growing community. With campus-based specialized units, such as the Tampa Bay Heart Institute; the Neuroscience Institute for Interventional Neuroradiology and neurologic care; an outpatient Heart Failure Clinic; and Fast Track emergency service, Northside Hospital continues to enhance and expand its services to better serve the St. Petersburg community.
Summary
Northside Hospital offers the community a state-of-the-art Neurointervention Suite for brain attacks and injuries. The main attraction of this suite is the hospital's new biplane angiography equipment, which can take advanced three dimensional neurovascular images to diagnose neurological conditions such as cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations. This cutting edge technology also reduces procedure time and radiation dose. The addition of this technology to Northside Hospital benefits the surrounding community by providing the most advanced neurovascular imaging available for patients suffering from neurological disorders such as strokes and aneurysms. The endovascular treatment of stroke extends the window of time for treatment ischemic from 3 hours up to 8 after the onset of symptoms. This technology allows minimally invasive techniques to reopen obstructed blood vessels, reducing the after-effects of stroke.
Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required, BSN preferred
- Current Florida State Registered Nursing license required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institute Health Stroke Scale) Certification required (available online at http://www.strokeassociation.org/)
Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range between $23.91 - $37.01 w/ night differential of $4.50, $1.50 weekend differential, up to $7,500 sign-on bonus and relocation offered for qualified candidates!
