Schedule: 1.0, 40 hours per week, FT  Shift: Mixed, rotating weekends

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides safe medication practices and high quality pharmaceutical care services to patients and healthcare providers, as demonstrated n the following practices:

  1. Assesses medication orders, accurately prepares and ensures timely dispensing of pharmaceuticals to inpatients and employees in a safe and effective manner, according to RMC policies, State and Federal regulations and JCAHO standards.
  2. Clarifies, proactively intervenes, monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices and to reduce risks of drug misadventures.
  3. Prioritizes and manages work assignments of technicians, pharmacy students, interns, trainees and volunteers.
  4. Coordinates and directs professional efforts to render high quality healthcare in a cost-effective manner while considering age-specific and host determinants as well as cultural differences and
  5. Educates healthcare providers and customers on safe and effective use of medications.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:    

Minimum:     Registered Pharmacist licensed by the California State Board of Pharmacy

Preferred:     American Society of Health–system Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency, or post-graduate fellowship and/or Board Certification in specialty area

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: One year acute care hospital experience or equivalent  

Preferred: Two to three years of experience working in Critical Care Units participating in ICU rounds

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:   Bachelor of Pharmacy degree equivalent/graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Preferred:    Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree and completion of PGY2 Residency in Critical Care.

Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range between $65.64-$73.52/hr.
