The Research Medical Center hospital offers medical and health clinic services—including women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room and trauma center, a stroke center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics— across three Kansas City locations. Our campuses include the main campus on Meyer Boulevard, the Research Medical Center Brookside Campus on Rockhill Road and Research Psychiatric Center, a Campus of Research Medical Center on 63rd Street. 500 beds, 98% full, 55k visits including psych, very large growth – specialized, very regional, Level 1 trauma center, Very busy / high acuity Psych ED, Psych ED associated with the ED- 6 bay inside of the ED, Burn Center, full ICUS-have inpatient holds, strong trauma program that has shown growth, staffing standards is aggressive – 2.4 man hour per unit hour, excellent Senior Team in place!
Summary
The Director Emergency Services Department assures service, growth, development, personnel management, and resource allocation and management controls in order to ensure consistent high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication. Actively participates in service, departmental and hospital wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those one represents. Advances the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must hold one of the following licenses/certifications: RN, CCRN, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist.
- BSN required, MSN, MHA, MSN, MBA preferred
- 3+ years of experience in emergency services required, 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Knowledge of human resource management, program development, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards strongly preferred
Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range between $46.45/hr min. $58.07/hr mid. and $72.00/hr max! Relocation and sign-on will be considered on a case by case basis.
