FT Days/ Rotating Weekends
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The OR Technician performs direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting and assists in the maintenance of a safe, clean environment, follows specific procedure to perform terminal cleaning of the OR and prepares rooms for new patients, uses industrial cleaning agents and equipment following appropriate safety procedures. Additional responsibilities include:
- Clean and re-make stretchers/beds.
- Turnover all OR room between cases.
- Stock all assigned areas.
- Deliver specimens/blood to the lab.
- Transport patients as directed by nurse.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Heavy lifting also required (25lbs-75lbs)
- Act as service Coordinator for on approved service
- Mentor/precept new scrub technician
- Act as project leader for service projects within the perioperative dep
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) and/or recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification on hire (American Heart Association)
- Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities
- Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer.
Education
- Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology preferred
Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range between $25.81-$35.49/hr.
