Full-time/ Nights (Rotating Weekends)

Over 95 different medical and surgical sub-specialists are housed within the “City”. Our medical center offers a full service adult and pediatric hospital, with separate adult and pediatric emergency rooms, outpatient centers, and a psychiatric hospital. Being recognized for their excellence in patient care, Medical City has received numerous awards including the Joint Commission’s highest honor bestowed to hospitals in the United States.  Medical City was the first hospital in North Texas to achieve The American Nurses Association MAGNET recognition and has had its third time resignation.

The MSICU RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.  The tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs. 
  • Carries out physician orders.
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.
  • Provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. 
  • Instructs and educates patients and families.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
  • Orients and mentors new staff members.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Credentialing Requirements:

  • BSN or enrolled and completed within 24 months of hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current license by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of Texas.
  • Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in Critical Care in an acute care hospital within the last three years required.
Compensation commensurate with experience with salary range between $24.12-$36.77/hr.
