Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Business Development has senior leadership responsibility for Hospital: business planning & analysis; market & technology research; new product/service line development planning & implementation; service line delivery analysis & development; physician sales; marketing and advertising; community relations and legislative advocacy. Duties include: writing business plans; researching strategic initiatives & opportunities; monitoring & reporting competitive analysis; coordinating market research; collaboration with sales, marketing, service line leaders and physicians; developing/enhancing product/service lines; physician recruitment; customer satisfaction; as well as managing special projects. The Vice President of Business Development coordinates projects that contribute to the organization’s image, identity, customer satisfaction, strategic planning, business decisions and revenue enhancement. This may include leading new business ventures, managing contract relationships and site development.
Qualifications
- A. / B.S. required, M.A. / M.S. preferred
- Ten years of progressive healthcare experience with direct involvement in business development, sales/marketing, strategic planning or other directly related areas. The Vice President of Business Development will have experience in business plan development, financial analysis, market research, strategy development, monitoring and tracking systems, analysis and reporting for executive-level presentation, contracting, and internal/external communications. She/he will also have experience creating and implementing business/project plans and budgets, establishing positive relationships with key customers, working with physicians, conducting research, managing databases, and presenting report results.
