Wrapping up Another Amazing Nurses Week

So, what made this year’s Nurses Week one of the best ever? A whole lot!

We're always proud to be one of the loudest voices praising the amazing work nurses do, but of course, we're not the only ones! Everyone loves nurses, and there’s no time of year when that love is stronger than Nurses Week.

So, as usual, hospitals and care facilities across the U.S.A. held ceremonies and other special events celebrating nursing professionals. And patients, families, communities, fellow clinical professionals, healthcare business leaders, and so many others all chipped in to share their love, appreciation, and support, too.

The outpouring of appreciation was truly special. Coffee shops offered free coffee, restaurants offered nurse discounts, and baseball teams held Nurse Appreciation Nights, complete with discounted tickets and other freebies. Some even had nurses sing the national anthem or throw out the first pitch — and there are still a few more scheduled for the summer, too! See a list here.

The Rhythm of Care, Powered by Nurses: HealthTrust’s Nurses Week 2026 Celebration

But nowhere was the spirit of nurse appreciation stronger than here at HealthTrust. Our Nurses Week 2026 celebrations were based on the theme, The Rhythm of Care Powered by Nurses, to recognize nursing's essential role in keeping patient care in motion, all year long.

And beyond appreciative words, we also offered some cool freebies, life-changing career opportunities, and plenty of photo ops, too! Check out some of the highlights below in our exclusive photo gallery — and then keep scrolling for some more insights into how to support nurses in your community, not just during nurses week but each and every day of the year.

How to Support Nurses All Year Long

National Nurses Week 2026 may be over, but National Nurses Month lasts throughout May. And if it were up to us, every week would be Nurse Appreciation Week! So if you're wondering how to support nurses all year long, here are a few quick tips:

  • Show some love. From a flower bouquet to a handwritten note or thank-you card to a small breakroom party, small gestures can make a big impact!

  • Show your support. Say thanks to the nurses you know — or just nurses in general — on social media, and make someone’s day. If you’re not sure where to start, join us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X for some inspiration.

  • Share a job opportunity. Know a nurse who’s due for a career change? We’ve always got hundreds (and hundreds) of amazing nursing jobs available, all across the U.S.A., including exciting travel assignments and work/life-friendly per diem jobs. And when you make a successful referral, you could score some bonus cash, too! Learn more here.

So, whether you’re a co-worker, family member, patient, or just someone who appreciates nurses, take the time to thank a nurse. You’ll be glad you did!
