Job Description:

The Trauma Program Director oversees and coordinates all aspects of the development of a newly designated and growing Level II trauma program in a busy progressive hospital setting.   This individual oversees the development of policies and protocols and guidelines related to Trauma.  He or she coordinates and monitors trauma care management ensuring that comprehensive and continuous care for trauma patients evaluated and admitted to the hospital from the Emergency Room is provided.  The Director collaborates with the trauma program medical director in carrying out the educational, clinical, research, administrative and outreach activities of the trauma program.  They will collaborate and develop appropriate required clinical reports for the hospital and the State of Florida as required while ensuring accreditation standards are met for Trauma Center verification and Trauma Service compliance with regulatory agency standards for The Joint Commission and AHCA.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor Degree required – Master’s preferred
  • Maintain a minimum of 10 CEU's in Trauma Nursing annually
  • BLS; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and or Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN) certifications
  • Certified Emergency Room nursing (CEN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate is preferred
  • Three years of professional nursing experience in an inpatient critical care or emergency nursing area or trauma intensive care unit
  • Background in trauma system management essential - required
  • Experience in trauma registry management

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and range between $95k-115$k/annually.
