Congratulations to Jeramy Miller, RN, on earning a DAISY Award! Jeramy is a HealthTrust travel nurse working in the ER at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, who is known for his compassion and willingness to go the extra mile for his patients and his colleagues:
"Jeramy is an amazing nurse and truly goes out of his way for coworkers and his patients alike. Not to mention the numerous times he has dropped everything he is doing for his stable patients to help with your critical patient or the numerous times he will buy a snack to cheer up a coworker.
I would like to nominate Jeramy for recognizing a patient's spouse's struggle with decision of comfort care vs. not after 52 years of marriage. This wasn't even Jeramy's patient, but he showed compassion and caring and went to the cafeteria and bought her a cappuccino with his own money and advocated the chaplain be called for her to have support since she was alone in the ER trying to figure out what to do with her husband's care."
