DAISY Award: Sally S., RN

Sally-Stump-Daisy-Award-1

Congratulations to Sally S., Telemetry RN, on receiving a DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award recognizes and celebrates those nurses who demonstrate compassion, provide warmth, and go above and beyond to bring excellent care to their patients and families every day.

Sally is a Telemetry RN at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Transplant Center in Denver, Colorado. She was nominated by the Vice President of Solid Organ Transplant Services after hearing of a situation in which Sally exemplified RN care, and went above and beyond!

Sally was on her way home when she discovered a patient who had fallen in the community building bathroom. The patient was in some sort of aid chair or walker and it had tipped backward. The patient had fallen, struck his head, and was immobile, lying on the floor. Sally immediately alerted the correct people and called 911, when she discovered this patient. She provided phenomenal care to this patient and his wife, making sure he was treated properly, safely, and quickly.

Please join us in congratulating Sally on her DAISY Award!

And thank you, Sally, for constantly pushing the boundaries of the definition of the word "care" on a daily basis.

We are standing alongside the DAISY Foundation and are asking for our community to make nominations, sharing how a nurse has made a meaningful impact on someone’s life. If you would like to learn more or nominate an outstanding nurse, click here.
