# Employee Spotlight: Mike Heilman

Mike Heilman is a Staffing Consultant for HealthTrust Workforce Solutions’ West Florida location. He recently earned his degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida while working full-time for HealthTrust.
In his role, Mike is responsible for monitoring changes to the staffing, onboarding, and credentialing processes that nurses must go through before facility placement. For example, a facility may require all nurses to complete a new training or receive a vaccine that was not previously required.
“The healthcare field is continuously changing,” says Mike, who worked at a hospital prior to coming to HealthTrust five years ago. “The processes are always being created and refined.”
He must also communicate the changes to the appropriate team members to ensure the nurses remain in compliance. If a facility has an urgent need, the team knows which nurses to target based on who meets the facility’s specific list of requirements.
During his first year with HealthTrust, Mike had the opportunity to visit one of the facilities he regularly works with. By meeting the men and women who are impacted by these changes, as well as seeing the facility in action, he was able to put his role into a greater perspective.
“It really opened my eyes to see how what we do is important,” he says. “We’re making a difference.”
