# HealthTrust Hero: Jessica Navas

Operational Analyst Jessica Navas is our next corporate HealthTrust Hero! Jessica joined the HealthTrust team in June 2016 as a summer intern. After two months of internship, she joined our MSP team full time and recently aligned with our Finance department.
Jessica earned her status as a HealthTrust Hero through her work to streamline the Annual Update process. The Annual Update ensures that all clinicians are actively compliant with their credentials, such as being up-to-date on their HealthStream courses and having a recent flu vaccination. However, this compliance information of more than 7,000 items is spread across three frequently-updated reports, making it incredibly time consuming to search for revised data.
A natural problem solver, Jessica took the time to manually compile and continuously update a master report of completions and requirements still outstanding for each of our hundreds of clinicians. Her hard work guaranteed that our clinicians could stay on their assignments through validating their credentials.
“It was something I really like to do,” Jessica says about running the reports and tracking the data.
Jessica first learned of HealthTrust through her father, Luis, who serves as the AVP of IT Operations. When the summer internship program was first announced in 2016, Jessica jumped at the opportunity to gain experience at a company she held in high regard.
“Jessica was born a natural leader,” says Luis Navas, who Jessica describes as her role model. “At the age of 11, she was already teaching Sunday school with students of her age and developing the curriculum for other teachers. We are proud of her achievements and we cannot be happier that her first job was with the HCA family.”
When away from the office, Jessica is a full-time college student. She will earn her bachelor’s degree in Technology Management this fall from Broward College.
