# October 2019 Jobs Report Doesn't Disappoint; Healthcare Hiring Continues

The U.S. created 128,000 new jobs in October and summertime hiring was upwardly revised, according to the latest BLS Economic Situation. In addition to the new gains, updated figures for August and September added 95,000 more jobs than initially reported.
The healthcare industry grew by 14,600 new jobs last month, accounting for 11% of the month’s job creation and adding up to a total of 402,000 new jobs being created in the last 12 months. The unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 3.6% in October from 3.5% the previous month.
