The U.S. economy ended 2018 on a strong note, adding a ten-month record-breaking 321,000 jobs in December. Employment in healthcare rose by 50,000, with the bulk of gains taking place within the ambulatory care sector (38K).

Two of our team members from the Sunrise corporate office attended the Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots game for being MVPs of their departments for the month of November! 

Dozens of HealthTrust Workforce Solutions team members volunteered for the United Way of Broward County's Day of Caring today at the BB&T Center! This annual event supports the local community through packaging and distributing meals to families in need. This year, HealthTrust packaged 3,060 meals.

Although the U.S. economy as a whole produced fewer-than-expected new jobs in November 2018, the Department of Labor reported that the healthcare sector continued to deliver job growth, adding 32,100 jobs and accounting for about 20% of all growth last month. Economists had been anticipating an overall growth of 198,000 jobs. The unemployment rate remained unchanged once again at 3.7%.  

The HealthTrust Workforce Solutions Recruitment Teams recently set sail for a sunset cruise aboard the Lady Gallant in Delray Beach, Florida, to celebrate tripling their 2018 production goal, putting three times the amount of people to work as a result of their shared vision, dedication to partnership and increased collaboration with one another. 

Our HealthTrust offices across the country donated food to local charities, such as the United Way of Broward County and Irving Cares, to make sure people in the community would have Thanksgiving dinner. Our Dallas office alone collected more than 500 pounds of food and living essentials to help those in need for the holiday! We would like to thank all of our HealthTrust team members for their generosity.

HealthTrust team members helped beautify Hollywood Beach just in time for Thanksgiving weekend visitors! Ten volunteers from our corporate office in South Florida picked up litter along the shore, filling nearly a dozen garbage bags in the process. We thank each of our beach clean-up volunteers for giving back to our coastal community. 

As we near the end of National Apprenticeship Week, we'd like to take a moment to shift the focus to our StaRN learners and clinical instructors. Thank you for all of the important time and energy you put forth to make our program such a tremendous success.
