Eric Katz was named Travel Recruiter of the Year for 2016! Having worked in recruitment for more than a decade, Eric was the top travel producer for the year and became a subject matter expert in HealthTrust’s enterprise staffing system, Workforce 2.0.
Eric and his colleagues are responsible for placing travel nurses on short-term assignments – typically up to 13 weeks – in healthcare facilities nationwide. Many travel nurses see these contracts as opportunities to fulfill their passion for nursing while also being able to travel the country, as each new assignment can be in a different city or state.
With travel nurses changing locations up to four times a year, it is imperative that the nurses have recruiters who can help them transition from one location to the next and ensure they meet the requirements of each new facility.
“We’re involved in every aspect of bringing a nurse to work,” Eric says. “We guide nurses along the entire hiring process.”
With a friendly and outgoing personality, Eric found recruiting to be a natural fit with his inherent strengths. Other keys to his success include his strong ability to problem solve, his directness and integrity when speaking with nurses, and always keeping nurses up to date on the status of their applications.
“I’m very straightforward with the nurses, and they respect that,” he says.
In fact, many of Eric’s new clients come as referrals from other nurses he’s placed in the past, leading to a 13 percent growth in his already top-tier book of business. If you're a travel nurse who has been on assignment at HCA in Florida, Texas, or Alaska, chances are you've spoken to Eric at one point or another!
We congratulate Eric Katz as being our Travel Recruiter of the Year!
