# Employee Spotlight: Nelson Parets

Nelson Parets is an associate recruiter for HealthTrust Workforce Solutions’ (HWS) per diem program. He joined the team on August 1, 2016, and became the first per diem associate recruiter to place a nurse within his first 30 days.
Nelson credits the department’s robust, hands-on training program lead by Vice President Lisa Acevedo with his success.
“Teamwork is a strong part of the culture here,” Nelson says. “Feeling valued by my coworkers, company, and even the CEO is the best part.”
Although a Miami native, Nelson worked in North Carolina just prior to joining the HWS team in South Florida. His previous experience was in marketing and sponsorships for local theaters, where he initiated a program to get children excited about theater.
Today, he continues to inspire children in the community through the United Way of Broward County’s [Reading Pals](https://engage.healthtrustjobs.com/hws-reading-pals) program. Nineteen HWS employees spend one hour per week reading to children at elementary schools as part of this early literacy initiative.
Working at HealthTrust was Nelson’s first step into the recruitment field, where his job is to find nurses to fill vacancies in North Florida hospitals. He enjoys the challenge of trying new techniques to recruit, as well as troubleshooting issues he comes across.
“Persistence and open mindedness are key,” Nelson says. “I’m really excited to come to work in the morning.”
