Nineteen HealthTrust Workforce Solutions team members have become United Way Reading Pals! Each Reading Pal spends one hour per week reading to a child, completing one book every two weeks. The child gets to keep the books, which they can then practice reading on their own.

Throughout the course of American history, courageous men and women have taken up arms to secure, defend, and maintain the core principles upon which our Nation’s freedoms depend.

The HWS Travel Recruitment department in Sunrise, Fla. recently adopted a neighborhood retirement home and created an interactive carnival for residents to enjoy. The team will visit the residents again in December for the holidays, as well as in the spring.

To some, this presidential election cycle felt like it would never end. The 24-hour news coverage, the back-and-forth political banter on social media, the water-cooler conversations at work have left more than half of Americans in a perpetual fight-or-flight state – in other words, stressed! It’s been dubbed “Election Stress Disorder,” and at the height of it all – Election Day – two of our behavioral health experts are providing ways to cope.

Few would argue that this has been one of the most divisive election years in recent memory. Many of us are simply tired. We want it all to stop. Campaign fatigue aside, today is the most important day in any election cycle. It is the day of reckoning and the day of responsibility. It is time to vote.
