During the month of June, the Alzheimer’s Association asks you to uncover the truth about Alzheimer’s and take action.

There are few nursing specialties that challenge your skills and compassion the way that working in a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) will. Your patients are the tiniest on the planet, and your job to help ensure they grow. If you are considering this specialty for your career path as a nurse, understand that a day in your work life will not compare with any other nursing position.

Scrubs recently shared an inforgraphic created to showcase the anatomy of a nurse, which takes into account:

An article published earlier this week in the Missoulian discussed the role nurses play in ensuring patient safety and the quality of care that patients receive, as well as patient satisfaction. While nurses are not the only professionals impacting a patient’s care (pharmacists, physicians, dieticians, therapists, nurse’s aides and others), nurses on the front lines often spend 8-12 hours per shift with their patients. They are key decision-makers and observers who can influence both patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.
